A Collector's Sanctuary Our studio was entrusted with designing a family home that actively celebrates their extensive, eclectic collection of art, furniture, and treasured pieces gathered over a lifetime. The resulting narrative is a deeply personal home that balances the bold, expressive character of these curated artifacts with the tranquil, grounding atmosphere of a spa-like retreat. Deeply rooted in local heritage, the architectural language is defined by tactile natural materials, earthy tones, and a sophisticated modern interpretation of the regional vernacular. At the very heart of the property lies a lush internal courtyard, a strategic design intervention that provides the family with complete privacy and beautiful internal views This central oasis is fundamental to the home's sustainable ethos; it naturally facilitates passive cooling while drawing abundant, diffused daylight deep into the primary living areas, including a dedicated, sun-drenched artist studio. Our studio developed a cohesive concept that seamlessly brings the natural world inside the house. Warm woods, intricately patterned architectural screens, and verdant landscaping elegantly frame the family's prized possessions, culminating in an eclectic yet deeply harmonious sanctuary where the family hopefully feels connected to their own memories as well as their local heritage.
