Madhatter Lounge

A Fantastical Escape Conceived as a highly immersive, narrative-driven experience, the Madhatter Lounge in Riyadh actively transcends traditional dining design. Tasked with bringing a whimsical fantasy to life, our studio designed and built an environment deeply inspired by the eccentric, surrealist motifs of Alice in Wonderland. By blurring the boundaries between a functional dining space and an interactive art installation, we created an otherworldly escape engineered to instantly transport guests down the rabbit hole and into a captivating, curated dreamscape. The success of this transportive atmosphere relies on an obsessive dedication to bespoke, handcrafted design elements. Every piece of furniture and decor was custom-fabricated to act as a functional prop within this theatrical narrative—from imaginative dining tables supported by structural "houses of cards" to whimsical seating distinguished by signature rabbit-ear silhouettes. These fantastical, oversized moments, along with tactile wall installations of classic parlor games and iconic top-hat centerpieces, are brilliantly contrasted against an edgy, semi-industrial architectural shell. By balancing playful, chaotic elements like paint-splattered concrete floors with striking metallic gold ceiling ductwork, our studio delivered a fully realized, sensory-rich venue where eccentric storytelling meets masterful spatial execution.
