Designing with the Mind in Mind Designing for mental health and wellbeing requires an environment rooted in empathy, safety, and vitality. When commissioned to design the new Riyadh headquarters for Labayh—a pioneering psychological consulting company—our objective was to translate their core mission of human healing into a tactile, spatial experience. We envisioned a modern workplace that does more than house employees; it actively nurtures them, serving as a sanctuary of focus and collaboration within the bustling city. Through a rigorous initial study of the client's operational needs and the inherent spatial challenges of the site, we recognized the need to balance two competing dynamics: the energetic collaboration of a growing corporate team and the absolute acoustic privacy required for psychological consultation. Our design strategy replaces the traditional, rigid office layout with a fluid, human-centric ecosystem. We introduced an open-plan environment that stimulates productivity and spontaneous interaction, carefully anchored by designated "quiet zones" and sound-isolated pods. By integrating a soothing, earth-toned material palette, biophilic design elements, and optimized natural lighting, the space inherently reduces cognitive load and promotes mental clarity. From initial spatial planning and immersive 3D visualizations to rigorous on-site supervision, our comprehensive design approach ensured that every detail—down to the technical acoustics and lighting—supports a culture of productivity, healing, and growth.
